White House launches 24/7 ‘Trump TV’ streaming channel

The White House has launched “Trump TV,” a round-the-clock streaming channel built around Donald Trump’s speeches, appearances and other administration-produced video.

“Trump TV: The Essentials Station” began streaming Monday, Sept. 21, 2026, on YouTube. It is also available on the White House website and official app. 

The White House described the service as a destination for the administration’s “biggest” moments, while White House digital strategy director Kaelan Dorr said it would feature Trump’s “greatest hits, unfiltered.”

The service is not operating like a traditional television network or streaming platform. Its initial programming has largely consisted of previously recorded Trump speeches, bill signings and other public appearances played continuously. 

The channel opened with a replay of Trump’s July 3, 2026, speech at Mount Rushmore. The White House also promoted the service with a video incorporating clips from television programs including “The Office,” “Seinfeld” and “Family Guy.”

Trump TV’s launch comes during an escalating dispute between the White House and several major news organizations. Trump announced Friday, Sept. 18, 2026, that CNN, MS NOW and Politico would no longer be permitted access to the White House grounds, accusing the organizations of repeatedly publishing false reports.

The three outlets filed a federal lawsuit Monday challenging the restrictions, arguing that the administration violated their First Amendment rights and denied them due process

The dispute has also disrupted the traditional White House television pool.

CNN was scheduled to provide pool video during Trump’s trip to New York for the United Nations General Assembly, but it was unable to do so because of the White House restrictions. ABC News, CBS News, Fox News and NBC News subsequently suspended their participation in presidential television pool coverage rather than replace CNN.

The five networks issued a joint statement saying the public has a “vital interest” in independent information about the government and arguing that an administration should not restrict a news organization because it objects to its reporting.

Other news organizations have also declined to use some White House-provided audio and video during the dispute, which has left White House events with spotty coverage often wrought with poor audio quality due to the lack of professional AV gear being available. 

The White House has presented Trump TV as a way to communicate directly with viewers without relying on news organizations to select or interpret the president’s appearances. Dorr said some news coverage had inaccurately portrayed or failed to report what the administration considers its accomplishments. 

Critics, including Democratic elected officials and press-freedom advocates, have characterized the government-operated stream as “state-run media.” A White House official rejected that description, telling NPR that applying the term to Trump TV would be comparable to describing an elected official’s social media account as state-run media. 

The White House has not announced a conventional program schedule, hosts or regularly scheduled newscasts for Trump TV. As of Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2026, the stream remained primarily a continuous collection of administration-selected videos.
