Al Araby draws on angled logo to create sprawling newsroom set

A final area, located on the mezzanine level of the space, includes a large, flexible space that affords cameras views of the surrounding upper area of the studio, which includes glassed-in offices, conference rooms and other workspaces, a nod to the channel’s mission of transparency.

Instead of traditional railings, Jago opted to use upright glass panels.

The angled positioning of the glass walls and strategic lighting design make the panels a key element of the background, with dynamic zigzagging angles, again an homage to the network’s logo, breaking up the background.

The upper portion of the studio is also outfitted with LED tiles that span the full height of the space in strategic positions.

This gives Al Araby the unique ability to feed these walls with one, massive image from floor to ceiling which the mezzanine floor appears to cut through, creating a virtual glass wall looking to the world beyond.
