Just five months into a strategic partnership, ABCNews.com and Yahoo! are celebrating big traffic gains that have catapulted the combined sites to the top online news source.
‘Good Morning America’ updates graphics package
This morning both “Good Morning America” and the “Today Show” launched new graphic packages.
The new “GMA” look uses ribbons of color. One interesting note is how the open is now using mainly the colors of the “Today Show” logo, and not the blue seen on the rest of the graphics. The open uses bright reds and oranges, but blue is missing.
Chicago forecaster discusses ‘subliminal messages’ in WX maps

After ABC News’ Sam Champion showed this graphic on “Good Morning America,” Chicago forecaster Paul Konrad fired back with some of his own weather maps with subliminal messages. See them and the video clip after the jump.

‘Today’ Twitter account hits 1 million mark

NBC’s “Today Show” main Twitter account hit a significant milestone over the weekend — 1 million followers.
The show celebrated hitting this mark with a blog post on the most memorable tweets from over the years.
Interestingly, rival “Good Morning America” has significantly more — some 1.76 million followers. “The Early Show” comes in last with just under 28,000 followers. “Today” hit just over 1,003,000 followers Monday.
In another daypart, however, “NBC Nightly News” trails “Today” with just over 88,000 followers. ABC’s “World News” has just over 66,000 and “CBS Evening News” once again comes in last with about 14,000 followers.
IntoNow to power ABC debate polls
For this weekends ABC News Presidential Debate, Yahoo’s IntoNow will power the polling through its app.
The app will allow for real-time feedback for candidates and questions asked. This also marks one of the first outings for the new ABC News/Yahoo! partnership.
