Roku launching World Cup ‘takeover’

Roku is launching a World Cup takeover ahead of the 2026 event.

“The Soccer Zone makes watching your favorite teams simple,” reads Roku’s press release. “Instead of hunting through different apps, you can find every live match in one place — easily see the soccer content available on apps you already pay for, like Fox One or Peacock, to start watching with one click.”

Launching June 11, 2026, Soccer Zone for World Cup 2026 will be available in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and the United Kingdom.

While Soccer Zone won’t include access to full games, Roku will refer users to Fox One to buy a subscription through a partnership with the company, which holds the English-language rights to the matches. The experience will also refer users to free, ad-supported content from Fox Sports and FIFA+ while also linking to Peacock for Spanish-language streams.

Soccer Zone will offer a collection of news, highlights and scores from the World Cup. 

This will include live updates from games, real-time scores and a customizable stats track so fans can follow their favorite teams.
