Election on the Web

Wednesday, February 6th, 2008

The Web is also playing a big role in Election 2008 coverage (this is the 21st century after all) and the battle is just a fierce between news organizations to see who can provide the best coverage.

Super Tuesday: PBS

Tuesday, February 5th, 2008

PBS is broadcasting live Super Tuesday coverage in HD, thats more than we can say about some networks. PBS is using the News Hour with Jim Lehrer studio and a very election style graphics package. The graphics do a good job and don’t include overkill like some networks.

For the coverage, Jim is at the main News Hour desk. Then, another anchor is at the “election desk” with a plasma providing details on the election.

While PBS doesn’t have the glitze and the glammer of FOX News or CNN, it still does a great job of getting the results across in a fair and balanced way.

PBS and BBC America have both provided an intersting perspective on the coverage, because both networks don’t have the big backing as other American networks.
