KSWB-TV goes FOX with new set and graphics

Recently launched, KSWB-TV has been garnering a lot of buzz lately for its recently relaunch in HD.

As part of their switch to FOX, KSWB-TV revamped their entire broadcast and launched in HD. For the switch, KSWB-TV received a new set by Broadcast Design International.

The set features a unique anchor desk with views of a control room area and a newsroom. Unique framing allows a Plasma monitor to be used as a OTS on either side.

Along with the main anchor area, a side area features another desk that can be used for updates, weather or sports. The new set gives KSWB-TV a “fresh, clean look that matches and gives the newscasts a modern, hip feel.”

This multipurpose set makes good use of the space and creates many unique areas where talent can present the news.

Graphic wise, KSWB-TV received a FOX O&O-like package.  The package is actually better than the FOX O&O package in many respects.  The open features more motion and better incorporates the city name.

The graphics package appears to be made by Hothaus and works well for this FOX station.

Together, both the new graphics and set work well for this newly relaunched station. It will be interesting to see if other Tribune stations adopted this look or set.
