CBS’s flagship O&O WCBS-TV will debut its new set Thursday at noon.
The new set, which appears in the publicity shot released by the station, will play a big role in the station’s just-announced news subchannel.
The facility features banks of video monitors and multiple spots for anchors and correspondents to deliver news, reports the New York Daily news.
“We felt it was time for a new set, because of all the various changes in technology as well as [the need for] a fresh look. The old set was installed 10 years ago, and it was time,” GM Peter Dunn says.
The Daily News also reports that WPIX-TV will debut its new studio Oct. 28 and WNBC-TV has a new set in the pipeline as well. WPIX-TV began removing its old morning set last week. WNBC-TV, meanwhile, moved to a new newsroom set in 2008, as part of a building-wide renovation of 30 Rockefeller Center.
