WCAU-TV, the NBC O&O in Philadelphia, recently began sporting a new logo.
The new logo features simplified, typography and also flips the “10” and “NBC” so the logo can be read to match the station’s branding. The station’s old logo is shown at right.
The logo’s new font choice is clean and easy to read, though the numeral “1” seems a bit off balance and weaker when compared to the wider “0.”
In addition to the new logo, the station is using a more muted graphics package that eliminates the bold orange tones in favor of blues.
WJAR-TV, meanwhile, which was formerly an NBC O&O but now owned by Media General, began using the same logo in 2002, but modified it in 2007, though the original version is still used in certain applications.
