Finally, “ABC World News Tonight” also originated from Pittsburgh, labeling the broadcast as a “special edition” right down to the customized voicer open. 

‘World News Tonight’ originated under the ‘special edition’ banner Sunday night.

In addition, the newscast used the banner ‘Synagogue Massacre.’ for its coverage. 

ABC opted to use the weekday name of “World News Tonight” — including the “with David Muir” part, even though weekend editions are typically listed sans his name.
