9. CNN’s ‘State of the Union’

CNN’s Sunday morning public affairs program ‘State of the Union‘ uses a unique logotype with a start in the middle of the “O” — as well as oversized abstractions of the outline of a thick star and textured politically themed imagery in backgrounds.

10. ‘The Daily Show Democalypse 2014: South By South Mess’

When ‘The Daily Show’ traveled to Austin, Texas, for special coverage in 2014, it built a temporary set that combined weathered wood with repeated references to the Texas flag, which in turn features all of the elements from the U.S. flag — stars and red and white stripes. The set also included glass and wall mounted stars, another nod to ‘The Lone Star State.’

11. ABC 2016 Election Promo

ABC News used this promo in 2016 that artfully turned star and stripes into transitional and accent elements, while also maintaining a muted color scheme that still echoed the traditional red, white and blue.
