Riot Games’ “League of Legends” LCK event used augmented reality to “wrap” the central riser of game stations with immersive 3D graphics.
At the event, a large circular area wrapped in audience seating was dedicated to player’s stations. For the streaming and broadcast coverage of the event, Reality Check Systems inserted augmented reality graphics that “surrounded” this area.
The graphics ranged from full “floor to ceiling height” graphics featuring characters as well as team names and logos.
Smaller ribbons and graphical elements were digitally inserted as well.
