That was fast: Former Tegna stations roll out Nexstar copyright slate

Just days after closing its acquisition of Tegna, Nexstar Media Group is already marking its territory on its new stations.

In the days following the March 20, 2026, closing of the deal, the now-former Tegna stations began showing the Nexstar copyright slate at the end of their newscasts.

The slate, which was already in use at pre-merger Nexstar stations prior to the merger, features the word “Local” prominently at the beginning before the corporate logo enters the screen.
