AJA Video Systems launches Bridge Live IP for SMPTE ST 2110 and streaming codec conversion

Contributed Content / Press Release April 13, 2026

AJA Video Systems has introduced BRIDGE LIVE IP, a device designed to convert between SMPTE ST 2110 and various streaming IP video and audio codecs. The 1RU unit provides bi-directional encoding, decoding, and transcoding capabilities to facilitate integration of compressed media into ST 2110 broadcast, live event production, and streaming systems.

The device can transmit and receive up to four channels of UltraHD at 60 frames per second or eight channels of 1080p60 HD video. Developed in collaboration with Comprimato, BRIDGE LIVE IP supports 10/25 Gigabit Ethernet ST 2110 workflows. It enables users to convert multiple IP video formats, including H.262, H.264, H.265, MPEG-TS, HLS, RTMP, RTMPS, and SRT. Optional licenses add support for NDI, JPEG XS, and JPEG 2000 codecs.

BRIDGE LIVE IP is intended for applications such as live and remote production, multi-camera podcasts, security and surveillance, esports, and over-the-top content delivery. The device allows secure multi-channel video backhaul over public internet connections, providing an alternative to satellite, dedicated lines, or fiber networks. It can also simplify multi-camera streaming to content delivery networks and encode content for IPTV and OTT distribution.

The device’s features include pure IP transcoding with bi-directional ST 2110 input and output, support for four UltraHDp60 or eight HD 1080p60 channels, and optional NDI-SMPTE ST 2110 conversion. HLS input and output capabilities enable delivery to content delivery networks and compatibility with devices running iOS, iPadOS, and tvOS.

BRIDGE LIVE IP is available through AJA’s reseller network with a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $17,999. The optional NDI license is priced at $499 per device, and JPEG 2000 and JPEG XS licenses start at $1,555. The device was demonstrated at NAB Show 2026 in Las Vegas from April 19 to 22 at booth N1927.
