CBS Atlanta launched “CBS News Atlanta at Noon” on July 13, adding a weekday live newscast focused on breaking news, weather, and community coverage.

The program expanded the station’s local news lineup following the launch of its news operation in September 2025. It is anchored by T.J. Anthony and meteorologist Johnathan Myers.

“Since launching our local news operation, we have remained focused on building a strong community-centered news brand for viewers across metro Atlanta and North Georgia,” Tom Canedo, president and general manager of CBS Stations Atlanta, said. “Adding a live noon newscast is another important step in that growth, giving audiences more opportunities to access trusted local news, weather and information throughout the day.”

The newscast covers developing stories and major events across metro Atlanta and North Georgia, along with weather forecasts, severe weather alerts and preparedness information. Its coverage also includes neighborhood stories, consumer issues, transportation, public safety and previews of stories expected to lead the evening news cycle.

The program is produced for television, streaming and digital audiences.

“Atlanta viewers want timely local information they can rely on throughout the day,” Shawn Hoder, news director of CBS Atlanta, said. “Launching ‘CBS News Atlanta at Noon’ gives us another opportunity to deliver breaking news, weather and community-focused reporting while continuing to grow our local news presence in the market.”

CBS Atlanta said its newscasts use augmented reality and virtual reality production technology to support visual explanations of weather events, breaking news and other subjects.
