CNN names Stefano Pozzebon international correspondent in Rome

CNN has named Stefano Pozzebon an international correspondent based in Rome, where he will cover Italy and other parts of Europe for the network’s television and digital platforms.

Pozzebon, who is a native Italian, will work alongside Vatican correspondent Christopher Lamb, who oversees CNN’s coverage of the Vatican and Pope Leo XIV. 

The Italian journalist previously worked as a CNN contributor in Bogota, Colombia, and Caracas, Venezuela, reporting in English and Spanish from across Latin America. CNN listed Pozzebon among its contributors covering the region in 2025.

His recent assignments included the aftermath of two deadly earthquakes in Venezuela, Colombia’s closely contested presidential election and political changes in Venezuela following the capture of Nicolas Maduro by U.S. forces. 

Pozzebon was named to Forbes’ 30 Under 30 Italy list in 2017 and studied international journalism at City University of London. He speaks English, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian.
