Telemundo Colorado promotes Laura Casillas to multimedia journalist

Telemundo Colorado KDEN in Denver, Colorado, has promoted Laura Casillas to multimedia journalist for “Noticias Telemundo Colorado.”

Casillas has worked in the Denver market for more than five years and has contributed to the station’s newscasts in both on-camera and production roles since July 2026.

“Laura is a talented journalist who understands our community and brings valuable experience covering the stories that matter to viewers across Colorado,” said Emmanuel López-Capó, news director of Telemundo Colorado, in a statement. “Her knowledge of the Denver market, strong reporting skills and commitment to local journalism make her a natural fit for this expanded role.”

Casillas has covered stories involving crime, local government and immigration during her career. In 2024, the Colorado Broadcasters Association recognized her reporting on ViVe School, an educational initiative serving migrant children in Denver.

Before joining KDEN, Casillas worked at Univision Denver (KCEC), where she produced, reported and anchored local newscasts.

She began her career in 2021 at KUSA “9 News” as a bilingual digital producer and host of “Culture Report.”

Casillas is also a two-time Emmy Award nominee for her production work.

“Noticias Telemundo Colorado” airs weekdays at 4 p.m., 4:30 p.m., 5 p.m. and 10 p.m.
