TheWB is back!

Beginning August 27, TheWB is back in a new online-only website that will feature former series along with current web only series.

“Warner Bros. Television Group is promoting the new site as ‘the next great network that won’t be televised.’ But cable operator Comcast, will offer classic WB series via its video-on-demand service.”

The move towards online networks is continuing to grow as more and more advertisers see value in online media. TheWB.com joins Hulu.com as a place to see network television shows legally online with limited commercial interruption.

Red Lasso suspends service

RedLasso, a site that monitors, records and makes TV video feeds available to bloggers has suspended its video service in the wake of mounting legal problems.

Two days ago NBC Universal and News Corp. filed a lawsuit against the company, and two months ago was served a letter from CBS, NBC and News Corp. demanding the site cease its service. Since that letter, content from CBS has disappeared from the site.

Spokane station makes 10,000 clips available online

KXLY-TV, the ABC affiliate in Spokane, Wash., has introduced a new video archive Web site that offers access to a portion of the station’s video archives.

The site, available at video.kxly.com, offers over 10,000 clips dating back several years.

Users can stream video for free and even download clips to their own computers for a fee.

Get the ‘Scoop’ at new site

MSNBC.com has rolled out the red carpet on another individually-branded video-based site for gossip column “The Scoop.”

The new design features the now-familiar MSNBC video player with a bold red background. Below, additional headlines are framed in a rather sickening shade of yellow/brown/orange/green — not a great choice (image after the jump).

WorldNow widgets debut

WorldNow has introduced WorldNow Widgets, a Web-based solution that allows stations to quickly and easily provide consumers with access to video content and galleries via custom players. The solution also includes advertising integration and an API for future expansion.

Like all WorldNow products, the Widgets come in a variety of bundles, which can be used independently or together.
