Katie Couric’s upcoming ABC-produced talk show, to debut in the Fall of 2012, officially has a name.

The show will be billed simply “Katie” and uses the tagline “The Opportunity Begins September 6.”

While Couric certainly has powerful first-name recognition, the choice of name will undoubtably draw parallels to Anderson Cooper’s similarly-named talk show debuting this year — titled “Anderson.”

In early promotional pieces, the show is using a purple script rendering of “Katie” paired with soft pastel backgrounds of purple, yellows and pinks, including bokeh light effects and subtle motion blurs.
