ESPN’s marquee show “SportsCenter” will move into a new state-of-the-art studio in the near future.

Construction started one year ago on ESPN Digital Center 2, a new building that will house 4 studios, 6 production control rooms  and 26 edit rooms. Time-lapse below.

“Within that space, we continue to plan for a phased roll out of studios, control rooms and edit suites with the first studio being brought online in Summer 2014,”  said Chuck Pagano, executive vice president and chief technology officer for ESPN.

“Currently, we are finalizing the specifics of the layout and design of what will be a 193,000 square-foot building with approximately 62,000 square feet of studio space.”
