WITI-TV, FOX 6 Milwaukee, took the wraps off its new set this week from FX Design Group.
The new set includes a 3×3 monitor array, floating header elements and lots of views of Milwaukee.
An L-shaped anchor desk is the sets homebase, and seats four. The L creates multiple background options, including a large monitor.
The desk mixes wood, metal and glass to create a contemporary look.
The set includes many standup locations and monitor stacks. Two large vertical monitors are used to create speciality standup areas.
Floating backlit boxes are in various areas of the set, adding visual interest at the top of the set.
The biggest draw back of this set is the overuse of duratrans for walls. Some backlit walls could have gone a long way to visually divide the sections. The set does a good job of mixing wood, metal and stonework to create a cohesive look.
