Dispatch Broadcast Group’s WTHR-TV debuted a new set design and graphics package on Tuesday.
Working with Clickspring Design and fabricator blackwalnut, the Indianapolis NBC affiliate now has a network level home. Dark wood, brushed metal and backlit elements anchor the design style, which also includes a fair amount of technology.
A flexible anchor desk that features a floating backlit panel is backed with an angled 4×3 monitor wall.
The weather center is located to the left, with multiple standup locations on the right, each with video screens.
An angled wall and large Indiana Limestone textured column separates the main anchor area from the rest of the venues. Backlit panels line the edges of the set, with monitors floating on top.
The Skytrack Weather Center includes a striking design element of slim metal columns and frosted plexiglass with a floating 3×1 monitor array topped with a lighted dimension logo. This sleek design helps hide the working weather area, located behind the monitors.
Overall, this set packs a bit impact in a small footprint.
