Though it’s slightly inland from Miami, Hurricane Matthew is still expected to impact Central Florida as well, and the Orlando, Fla. stations are tracking the storm as well.
The market’s Hearst owned NBC affiliate, WESH-TV, has incorporated the red hurricane warning flags, rather cleverly, into the “diagrid” design, which works perfectly to give the flags a sense of movement.
The market’s CBS affiliate, WKMG-TV, owned by Graham Media, has also added the flags to its lower thirds, which are actually from the same graphics package used at WPLG-TV.
That stems from the fact the stations were previously sister stations, though WPLG-TV has since been sold by Graham to Berkshire Hathaway.
Over at ABC affiliate WFTV-TV, meanwhile, the station has opted to reserve the use of red flags, at least for now, to the five day forecast graphic, shown here.

Correction: An earlier version of this story misidentified the network affiliation for WPLG-TV. The station is an ABC affiliate.
