Scripps stations to provide news via Amazon Alexa

“Alexa, tell me the local news.”

That’s what viewers in markets served by E.W. Scripps Company’s local stations will be able to say to get up to date.

Scripps has announced it will add content from its local news stations to Amazon’s Alexa platform.

As part of its offering Scripps stations will provide a “Flash Briefing,” updated several times a day, to users Amazon’s Echo and other Alexa-enabled devices.

In many of its markets, the Scripps station will be the only local news provider on Alexa, according to the company.

Scripps stations will be join the device, which already features content from CNN, NPR and other outlets.
