‘CBS Evening News’
“CBS Evening News,” meanwhile, opted to brand its coverage under the “Terror in Barcelona” banner, which also featured a bold gold color scheme and logotype in a wide rectangle featuring blended imagery of the Spanish flag as a background.
A map view of Spain was also used, along with boxed photos, simliar to the look found in the show’s open, although these boasted thick black borders and were arranged with a lopsided look.
For on-screen statistics, the network used large, bold letters with a slight texture applied to them, a favorite technique of the broadcast.
During packages introduced by interim anchor Anthony Mason, the insert graphics featured the show’s standard lower third with an added their with the “Terror in Barcelona” logotype.
The design, however, appears to be struggling to decide if it wanted to be the bold gold tone found elsewhere in the show’s coverage or stuck with the red and white color scheme of the normal graphics.
