MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” visited Alabama on Tuesday morning to kickoff — as CNN is branding it — “Election Day in Alabama.” The special broadcast fronts a day of election coverage from the state, along with various primetime special reports.
Joe Scarborough, Mika Brzezinski, Willie Geist and a crowd of onlookers broadcasted from inside Char Bar No. 7 in Mountain Brook, a suburb of Birmingham.
The show’s scenic setup includes patriotic lighting effects on the various window shadows and wall sections surrounding the restaurant. As well, graphic panels with a “Morning Joe” step and repeat logo pattern were inserted at key points around the space.
Thanks to the timing of this special election, Christmas decorations can also be seen around the restaurant.
Joe and Mika also sported matching show jackets.
More: During the coronavirus pandemic, restaurants across the country began switching to contactless QR code menus.
