Slovakian broadcaster creates clean, high tech look driven by technology

Slovakian station TV Markíza unveiled a new studio design this past September that blends dramatic background lighting and sleek surfaces with the latest in LED technology.

From Jaroslav Holota’s Upgroup, the set features a flexible setup stocked with Leyard LED video walls.

“Viewers can feel the unique atmosphere of the updated TV Markíza News studio,” said Zdenko Rysavy, CTO of TV Markíza. “We look forward to using these video walls for a long time.”

The station worked with integrator Centron Slovakia to outfit the studio with Leyard’s TVH Series video walls, including the main display measuring 18 feet wide by 8 feet tall, gently curving behind the anchor desk.

Off to one side is an additional 12 foot wide by 8 foot high span that is used for sports, weather and standup-style segments.

All of the LED panels are curved to match the flow of the studio’s thin, internally it framework and footprint.

Although the studio itself has limited hard scenery — namely the anchor desk and riser, illuminated frame and floor accents — combining the use of video walls and broad expanses of color changing backdrops gives the space a minimal but modern look and feel.

The studio’s curved walls are designed to feature bold gradient blends that can be synchronized to the color palettes shown on the video panels — whether they be topical or branded backgrounds or anchor desk ribbon.

All three of the LED panels are equipped to display full HD quality content and sources and are housed in easy-to-use display cabinets that can be configured for a myriad video wall sizes or setups.

The TVH line from Leyard also includes a black resin shader, enabling a deep level of black on-air.

“The high quality of the Leyard LED video walls is the perfect solution for the broadcaster studio,” said Radoslav Bako, CEO of Centron Slovakia.
