NBC News
NBC News‘ coverage was presented under the “Today” banner, with an official title of “Today at the Royal Wedding.”
The network opted to go gold with its graphics, which was used in a special open that used a blend video and still photos accented with gold glows and scrollwork designs.
In addition, the open features the “Today” show signature blended into a fanfare-like bed during the extended open narrated by co-anchor Savannah Guthrie, who hosted alongside Hoda Kotb.
Most of NBC’s coverage included a branded bar running along the entire bottom edge of the screen with a bug animating between the “Today” logo and NBC News logo design.
The darker background in this bar, which, like the rest of NBC’s graphics package, uses the popular font Trajan, was a dark brown with curved gold accents.
Another common motif in the NBC News look was a gold-hued photograph background of the interior of St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, the site of the wedding ceremony.
The strong vertical lines in the castle’s architecture also serve as a textural background in graphics that don’t use the entire image.
NBC’s lower thirds used a horizontal gradient in a pale gold tone.
Like CBS, NBC also included a rundown-style graphic, though its version was fullscreen.
Sister network MSNBC, meanwhile, used a similar look with an alternate standup location hosted by Stephanie Ruhle and Katy Tur.
