DPA Microphones introduces 4097 CORE+ micro shotgun microphone

Contributed Content / Press Release March 23, 2026

DPA Microphones has expanded its CORE+ microphone lineup with the introduction of the 4097 CORE+ Micro Shotgun. The new model aims to provide improved clarity, headroom, and sonic transparency for applications including speech, choir, film, and broadcast.

The 4097 CORE+ incorporates DPA’s CORE+ technology, which reduces distortion across the microphone’s dynamic range. This technology addresses non-linearities caused by microphone membranes and electronic components, resulting in clearer sound capture. The microphone is designed to perform in challenging acoustic environments.

The microphone is suited for conferences, houses of worship, broadcast, and film productions. It builds on the original 4097 model by integrating advanced technology and a redesigned form factor. Updates include a simplified foam shape, a flock finish, an upgraded gooseneck, and an improved shock mount to reduce interference from structural and cable vibrations.

The 4097 CORE+ features a supercardioid pickup pattern that provides off-axis noise rejection to minimize ambient noise and feedback. It can handle a wide range of vocal levels without sacrificing intelligibility or tonal balance.

The microphone maintains a lightweight and compact design for flexible placement and precise aiming. Its discreet finish is intended for settings where visual presence should be minimal. The 4097 CORE+ is also part of a choir miking solution that includes a pre-assembled, foldable mic stand.

The microphone uses DPA’s MicroLock connector, which offers a rugged connection optimized for live and installed use. The connector is rotatable and non-reflective. The 4097 CORE+ is backward compatible with devices using MicroDot connectors and supports various phantom power voltages.

DPA has also introduced a new Gooseneck Mount (G-MOUNT) with a two-step locking mechanism for precise, one-handed mic placement. The mount improves vibration isolation and stability and is backward compatible with existing DPA clips. Select clips have been refined to enhance usability and acoustic performance.

DPA Microphones plans to showcase the 4097 CORE+ at NAB 2026 in booth C4428.
