Mediagenix updates content personalization with semantic metadata enrichment

Contributed Content / Press Release April 2, 2026

Mediagenix announced enhancements to its Content Personalization solution designed to improve content discovery and viewer engagement for broadcasters and streaming platforms.

The update builds on the company’s Humanized Semantic Search, which received the IBC 2025 Best of Show award. The new features combine semantic metadata enrichment and AI-powered search capabilities with personalization to connect audiences with relevant content more efficiently. This aims to help operators maximize the value of their content catalogs.

Gabriel Mandelbaum, vice president of content strategy and management, said that many platforms still use outdated personalization methods that require viewers to search extensively to find relevant content. The enhancements are intended to make personalization more intuitive and effective, allowing viewers to find desired content faster.

Traditional personalization and search methods often function separately or use static logic, limiting their effectiveness. Mediagenix integrates semantic intelligence, audience insights, and editorial control into a unified content discovery approach. The platform uses enhanced metadata, semantic enrichment, and AI search to help manage large and diverse content libraries, improving discoverability, engagement, and retention.

Mediagenix’s AI-powered semantic search uses natural language processing and a dual-layer Knowledge Graph to analyze metadata from keywords to detailed descriptions, enabling more relevant content suggestions. Semantic enrichment creates detailed profiles for each content item using AI to generate and categorize metadata according to the company’s taxonomy, which allows for human oversight.

The updated AI-powered semantic search interprets the meaning behind user queries, combining semantic analysis with rich metadata to deliver more accurate results.

Mediagenix reported measurable results from deployments, including up to a 60% increase in conversion-to-play, a 35% increase in viewing session duration, a 62% increase in catalog exposure, and a 50% reduction in editorial curation effort.

The company said these improvements enhance viewer experience and operational efficiency, helping media companies increase engagement, content utilization, and streamline workflows.

Mediagenix is also applying audience intelligence earlier in the content pipeline to inform strategy, curation, and scheduling decisions, aiming to shape performance in real time.

The company was named an IDC Innovator in the IDC Innovators: Media and Entertainment 2025 report for its approach to embedding personalization across the content lifecycle.

Mediagenix will present its Content Personalization solution at the 2026 NAB Show on Booth W1857 in the West Hall. Interested parties can book a meeting to learn more.
