Telestream and Mimir announce integration for streamlined media ingest workflows

Contributed Content / Press Release April 8, 2026

Telestream, a provider of media workflow technologies, announced a new integration with Mimir, a cloud-native media collaboration and production platform. The integration aims to deliver seamless ingest, processing, and editorial workflows for news, sports, and broadcast production.

The combined solution will be showcased at NAB 2026, with Telestream located at booth W1503 and Mimir at booth N2850. The integration connects Telestream’s Vantage and Live Capture solutions with Mimir’s asset management platform.

Built using Mimir’s open REST APIs and metadata model, the integration ensures that media assets arrive with the necessary context and structure for immediate search, collaboration, and editorial use. This approach allows users to move from ingest to editorial without delay.

Telestream’s processing includes automated normalization, metadata enrichment, quality control, and transcoding. These steps prepare incoming media for immediate use within the Mimir platform without additional reprocessing.

Richard Andes, vice president of product management at Telestream, said the integration allows content to be ready for editorial workflows upon arrival, supporting both cloud and hybrid deployment models. Steinar Søreide, chief technology officer at Mimir, added that the integration reduces extra steps and workarounds by making ingest the start of editorial workflows.

The integration combines Telestream’s Global Ingest processing and automation with Mimir’s cloud-native platform to support centralized and distributed production models. It enables “edit-while-ingest” workflows, allowing teams to work with content as it is being ingested.

Telestream’s Global Ingest capabilities include UP.Ingest, which processes camera card and file-based contributions in the cloud, and UP.Capture, which supports cloud-native SRT ingest for live feeds. These features support distributed, cloud-first production while maintaining structured metadata and automation.

The solution supports both fully cloud-based and hybrid configurations, allowing broadcasters to extend on-premises infrastructure into the cloud without disrupting operations.

File-based and live workflows are supported. Telestream Vantage workflows automatically normalize media into Mimir-supported formats, enrich metadata, perform quality control, and deliver files into the Mimir cloud environment. Telestream Live Capture supports live feeds from SRT, SDI, ST 2110, or IP sources, recording and uploading content directly into Mimir storage with metadata and proxies for editorial access.

The integration also supports multimedia journalist workflows by enabling reporters to capture, edit, and submit content from the field. Telestream processing pipelines conform camera formats, add metadata, and deliver assets directly into Mimir for immediate editorial use.

Telestream will present its media workflow solutions at NAB 2026 at booth W1503.
