Blackmagic Design adds 100G Ethernet models to URSA Cine lineup for live production

Blackmagic Design announced two new URSA Cine camera models ahead of the 2026 NAB Show, adding 100G Ethernet connectivity to both the URSA Cine 12K LF and URSA Cine Immersive for SMPTE-2110 live production workflows.
Both cameras will be demonstrated at Blackmagic Design’s booth N2502 at the NAB Show. The company also announced the Blackmagic URSA Cine Live Encoder, a processor module for compressing immersive video for live output.
URSA Cine 12K LF 100G targets cinematic live production
The URSA Cine 12K LF 100G adds a 100G Ethernet connector to the existing URSA Cine 12K LF platform for SMPTE-2110 IP video output. The model supports frame rates up to 440 fps for slow-motion replays and outputs up to 2160p60 with the camera’s 16 stops of dynamic range.
The camera retains the large format RGBW 36x24mm sensor and shooting specifications of the existing URSA Cine 12K LF, including Blackmagic RAW recording at up to 80 fps in 12K, 144 fps at 8K and 240 fps at 4K. Generation 6 Color Science handles image processing, with two 3D LUT processors for different outputs and an additional 3D LUT dedicated to the SMPTE-2110 output. Users can load custom LUTs or select from preloaded options including Rec. 709, Rec. 2020 and PQ.
When set to SMPTE-2110 Live in the menu, the camera operates as a live studio camera with real-time IP video output over Ethernet. The model supports optional PL, locking EF, LPL and B4 broadcast lens mounts. The B4 option uses an optical system matched to the RGBW sensor with a center-crop mode for Ultra HD at high frame rates, and an optional control cable converts the camera’s 7-pin EXT connector to a 12-pin Hirose B4 control interface.
The camera includes a built-in color corrector based on DaVinci Resolve’s primary color corrector, accessible through the ATEM Camera Control Panel or through DaVinci Resolve control panels with trackballs for separate lift, gamma and gain control across Y, R, G and B channels. An optional 7-inch studio viewfinder with touchscreen control, sunshade and brightness, contrast and focus peaking adjustments connects through USB-C.
“URSA Cine 12K is an incredible camera for digital film, but we really wanted to bring that cinematic quality to live production and the 100G Ethernet model lets us do that in a way nobody has seen before,” said Grant Petty, CEO of Blackmagic Design. He said the Ethernet connection delivers SMPTE-2110 live video at frame rates up to 440 fps and that the studio viewfinder and B4 lens mount position the camera for broadcast use.
The URSA Cine 12K LF 100G will be available in the third quarter from Blackmagic Design resellers worldwide starting at $8,995, excluding duties.
URSA Cine Immersive 100G adds live capability for Apple Immersive Video
The URSA Cine Immersive 100G is positioned by Blackmagic as the first immersive cinema camera designed for live production with Apple Immersive Video. The camera uses dual 8Kx8K RGBW sensors with 16 stops of dynamic range and outputs over 100G Ethernet at data rates under 50 Gb/s, allowing two cameras to share a single 100G Ethernet connection.
Each sensor supports 90 fps at 8Kx8K stereo, captured as a single Blackmagic RAW file or a single ProRes SMPTE-2110-22 stream. The dual sensor layout uses the same RGBW sensor design as the URSA Cine line, with larger photo sites and equal amounts of red, green and blue pixels for color sampling. The camera includes Generation 6 Color Science with the DaVinci Wide Gamut film curve and ships with an 8TB Blackmagic Media Module for recording.
“Live immersive production is here, and it’s extraordinary,” said Grant Petty, CEO of Blackmagic Design. He said the camera’s imagery places viewers in the middle of the action and opens new applications in sports and concert production.
The URSA Cine Immersive 100G will be available in the third quarter for $26,495, excluding duties and local taxes. The existing URSA Cine Immersive is available now for $24,995.
Blackmagic said the URSA Cine Immersive 100G was used for Spectrum Front Row, a series of live Los Angeles Lakers games captured in Apple Immersive during the 2025-2026 season, available on demand through the Spectrum SportsNet and NBA apps for Apple Vision Pro. The existing URSA Cine Immersive has been used for productions including “MotoGP: Tour De Force,” a BBC Proms documentary, an upcoming Real Madrid documentary and coverage of NASA’s Artemis II launch.
Blackmagic also announced the URSA Cine Live Encoder, a live processor module that compresses immersive video into Apple ProRes for output as SMPTE-2110-22 IP video. The encoder allows the stereo, high frame rate image streams from the URSA Cine Immersive 100G to be combined into a single 100G Ethernet connection.
The URSA Cine Live Encoder will be available later this year. Blackmagic did not announce pricing.
