NBC Sports will continue producing “Thursday Night Football” for Prime Video through the 2026 NFL season, with the production partnership set to end afterward.
Sports Business Journal originally reported that Prime Video planned to produce the weekly package independently as Amazon expanded its internal production capabilities. SBJ’s Austin Karp later clarified on X that NBC Sports would remain involved during the 2026 season.
Prime Video has relied on NBC Sports to handle production of “Thursday Night Football” since Amazon became the package’s exclusive rights holder in 2022.
The agreement reportedly gave Amazon access to NBC Sports’ production resources for five years. The 2026 season will be Prime Video’s fifth as the exclusive home of the package.
The original arrangement also brought Fred Gaudelli, the longtime executive producer of “Sunday Night Football,” to Prime Video to lead its NFL production.
Mark Teitelman served as lead producer for “Thursday Night Football” last season alongside lead director Pierre Moossa. Teitelman also produced NFL Draft and NFL Scouting Combine coverage for NFL Network, while Moossa worked on other NBC Sports properties, including the NBA and Premier League.
Additional details about how Prime Video will structure its production operation after the 2026 season were not immediately clear.
Editor’s note: This story has been updated to reflect new details about the timing of the end of Prime Video’s production partnership with NBC Sports.
