KOIN evening anchor Elizabeth Dinh is leaving the Nexstar-owned CBS affiliate in Portland, Oregon, after six years as she prepares to return to her home state of Texas.
Dinh, who anchors the station’s 5, 6 and 11 p.m. newscasts, announced her departure during a broadcast Friday, Oct. 23, 2026. Her final newscast is scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, 2026.
The move will conclude a 25-year career in local television journalism, including a decade working at Portland stations.
Dinh plans to relocate to Texas with her husband, Kevin, and their pug, Banh Mi. She has not announced plans to return to television.
“I am very grateful for the people of Oregon and SW Washington,” Dinh is quoted as saying in a story on the station’s website. “It’s been an incredible journey.”
Dinh joined KOIN in fall 2020 after four years at Fox affiliate KPTV, where she began working in 2016.
Her arrival at KOIN coincided with a turbulent period in Portland, including extensive wildfires and months of protests.
“Liz walked onto the KOIN news desk at one of the busiest times in the city’s history,” KOIN news director Rich Kurz said. “She very quickly became a cornerstone of KOIN 6 as a trusted anchor.”
In addition to anchoring evening newscasts, Dinh developed the station’s weekly “Northwest Grown” franchise, highlighting regional agriculture, restaurants, chefs and food producers.
Before moving to Portland, Dinh spent three years at CBS-owned KTVT in Dallas–Fort Worth, Texas, working as an anchor and morning reporter.
Her earlier career included reporting at KOMO in Seattle, Washington, and anchoring and reporting at WFTS in Tampa, Florida.
She began her television career in Amarillo, Texas, working as a weekend anchor and evening reporter for KAMR and KCIT.
KOIN general manager Tom Keeler credited Dinh’s reporting and community involvement during her tenure at the station.
“Liz Dinh is the consummate journalist who has told stories over the years that made the Portland community better,” Keeler said in the story. “We celebrate her 25-year career in local journalism with her final six years at KOIN 6 with a resounding ‘Thank You.'”
KOIN has not announced who will succeed Dinh on its evening newscasts.
