Jack Morton helps relaunch ‘Sunrise’ on Channel 7

Jack Morton and lead designer Jim Fenhagen helped develop a new look for Australia’s Channel 7 morning program “Sunrise” that launched last week.

The new set, located at Channel 7’s Martin Place studio, uses various wood tones and LED lighting to create an inviting morning show set.

KMAX-TV ‘Good Day Sacramento’ added to SetStudio

We’ve added pictures from “Good Day Sacramento,” KMAX-TV’s morning program, to SetStudio.

The set was designed by Park Place Studio.

WFOR-TV added to SetStudio and Graphics section

We’ve added captures from WFOR-TV to SetStudio and the Graphics section of NewscastStudio.

WFOR-TV debuts HD home

WFOR-TV, the Miami CBS O&O, debuted a refreshed HD set and graphics package on Sunday.

Along with the new graphics, WFOR-TV dumped its previous logo of ten years for a new bluer logo. Continue reading for more pictures.

KTLA-TV added to SetStudio

We’ve added pictures from KTLA-TV, the Los Angeles CW affiliate, to SetStudio. Thanks to Broadcast Design International and KTLA News for the updated pictures.

2009’s best set designs

2009 was a challenging year for the television news business and it’s no question that was reflected in the set design industry.

Combined with the bad economy and end of the first wave of HD newscast conversions, there were significantly less sets going in around the country.

WXIN-TV added to SetStudio

We’ve added pictures and renders of  WXIN-TV, the Indianapolis FOX affiliate, to SetStudio.

The set was designed by Curtis Elliott Designs. They’ve also included some renders of the initial design of the set to give readers an inside look at the initial ideas.

Noticiero Telemundo added to SetStudio

We’ve added pictures of Noticiero Telemundo to SetStudio.

Noticiero Telemundo is the nightly news program of Telemundo and uses a very modern European styled set with many unique angles and lots of square elements.

PBS Newshour added to NewscastStudio

WGEN-TV added to SetStudio

We’ve added photos from WGEN-TV, an independent station in Miami, to SetStudio. The set was designed by Aldo Alvarez.

KSPR-TV and Options Charter School added to SetStudio

We’ve added photos of the new Devlin Design Group set from KSPR-TV in Springfield, Missouri and photos of Options Charter School to SetStudio. Special thanks to meteorologist Craig Carnesi for the KSPR-TV photos.

Birmingham Fox station launches new set

WBRC-TV, the Fox affiliate serving Birmingham, Ala., has debuted a new set from FX Group.
