KTLA-TV added to SetStudio

We’ve added pictures from KTLA-TV, the Los Angeles CW affiliate, to SetStudio. Thanks to Broadcast Design International and KTLA News for the updated pictures.
Don’t forget you can still vote for KTLA-TV, Fox Business News or WPBF-TV for the 2009 set of the year.
New KTLA set combines contemporary, traditional looks

The set has an anchor desk fronted by three panels embedded in a metal-toned curved structure. Flanking this are bright white lighted boxes and the desk is topped with a sleek glass top.
The backgrounds include a camera center rear projection screen and large swathes of printed graphics based on the graphics package.

We’ve added a gallery of KTLA-TV graphics to the graphics section. The package features vibrant blues and oranges with lots of motion and action.
KTLA-TV debuts new set from BDI

KTLA-TV, the CW affiliate in Los Angeles, has debuted its new set and graphics. The set features a modern look and elements in warm woods and blue tones. NewscastStudio has confirmed the set was designed by Broadcast Design International.

KTLA-TV to debut new set soon

Via Twitpic, KTLA-TV is in the process of installing a new set to debut possibly later this week.
The set has hallmarks of a few designers, including PDG and BDI, but it’s too early to tell at this point. Based on what MicahKTLA posted as a description, the set will debut this Friday. Overall, the set appears to have a modern styling with some masonry elements mixed in with woods and metals.
It’s interesting to note that the set has KTLA-TV’s retro logo. Another picture after the jump.

SportsCenter to debut new graphics and LA studios on April 6

ESPN SportsCenter is rolling out a new HD graphics package on Monday, April 6. The new look keeps the “energy and the look appropriate for ESPN’s best-known program, but is enhanced with more detail in a futuristic, effects-driven presentation.“
According to Sports Business Daily, the new graphics “include a new font, layout and colors.” The rundown has also moved to the left hand side and other tweaks are sure to be seen. The previous graphics have been used since SportsCenter’s HD launch in 2004.
This new debut will also happen as ESPN opens their new Los Angeles production facilities, “ESPN will have two studios, three production control rooms, two master control rooms, eight edit suites, a voiceover room and other infrastructure for more than 12,300 feet.”

New NBC affiliate package debuting soon

An anonymous tipster sent NewscastStudio these screen grabs. NBC Artworks is currently putting the final touches on a new NBC division wide news graphics package. The package will begin its rollout in May and then continue with the lead up to the Beijing Olympics (Dallas O&O KXAS-TV has been using elements of this package in promos for a while now).
