The New York Post is reporting that an insider has come forward claiming NBC had younger, hipper and thinner interns sit around the newsdesk seen in Wednesday’s “NBC Nightly News,” which was anchored from the newsroom. Apparently the normal staff in those seats aren’t quite as photogenic, the tipster claims.

According to the report, the interns were told to “sit up straight,” “look busy” and keep their computers open to MSNBC.com.

As reported earlier by NewscastStudio, NBC probably should have spent more time worrying about shot blocking and keeping lighting and other equipment out of shots rather than who was sitting in the background.
