Via WebNewser, NBC is testing a new web update newscast called “Nightly News Now.”
The one to two minute long program recaps the day’s news in a format designed for mobile devices.
For the moment “Nightly News Now” is being tested out on the weekends, with Lester Holt anchoring. The plan is to monitor the response to the webcast, with the possibility of expanding it down the line.
MSNBC for a while has put web only video on its site, complete with an anchor intro from a news nook. We’ll see if this catches on, but at the moment it could use some more polishing.
