WNBC-TV, the flagship NBC O&O in New York City, will relocate its newscasts to Studio 3C in Rockefeller Center, the current home of “NBC Nightly News.”
“Nightly News” is slated to move to the larger Studio 3B, where it will share studio space with the yet-to-debut “Rock Center” newsmagazine show.
Studio 3C, which overlooks the main NBC News newsroom and MSNBC studio, will be renovated, likely before the end of 2011, and turned into the new home of WNBC-TV’s local newscasts.
It will be interesting to see if the new set design maintains the windows that overlook the newsroom area.
