WGAL-TV, the Heart Television station in Harrisburg, Pa., has debuted a new set from FX Group.
The station is offering a slideshow of the set along with a 360-degree view.
So far, viewer reaction has been mixed.
Many viewers like the new set, but the station’s Facebook page also has comments complaining about the lighting and the way the monitor array is broken up with the panels’ thick frames. Several viewers also complained about the overuse of the baby blue color and blurred backgrounds.
“A lot of money for nothing – the tile makes it look like they’re broadcasting from a bathroom. WAY too busy and distracting!” wrote one viewer.
Another viewer, however, wrote: “This is most excellent. There are so many things I like about News 8 and I am glad to see your new design and technology. Congratulations!!” Other comments praised the change and mentioned how the new set boosts the station’s on-air look.
