The New York Times has a brief question and answer with Anton Goss, the Los Angeles based set designer who’s created studio environments for Oprah, Tyra Banks, Ellen Degeneres and, now, the new iteration of the Ricki Lake Show.

In the interview, Goss discusses his design process and past work as well as how the hosts’ personality and tastes dictates the final design.

While it doesn’t appear Goss has done work for television news (and television news set design is, in many ways a much different beast), the interview is still an interesting read for anyone with an interest in scenic design.
