WTIC-TV, the Tribune owned Fox affiliate in Hartford, Conn., debuted a new home this week that blends its network’s signature bold colors into the set design.
The set, designed by Park Place Studio, includes a dramatic curved anchor desk with bold horizontal striping created with lights. Four small vertically mounted flat panels with thick bezels a situated in the center.
The set’s main backdrop, meanwhile, is large spans of backlit surfaces tinted to match the blue and reds found in the station’s logo, which is itself a version of the Fox O&O logo design.
The weather center is dominated by what appears to be a slightly lighter (perhaps hinting at sky blue?) tone of blue and also includes multiple monitors for displaying weather graphics.
Meanwhile, competitor WFSB-TV is readying a new set of its own.
