KOAA, the NBC affiliate in Colorado Springs has updated its logo to incorporate an homage to the Rocky Mountains.
The station had been using a rather clunky “Circle 5” logo with the numeral five “bursting” outside of the circle.
The new logo uses a similar “5,” which is a nice connection to the old look. Inside the “5,” meanwhile, the station added an abstract outline of mountain peaks, presumably a reference to the Souther Front Range of the Rocky Mountains, which sit beside the city.

The logo also switched to a softer blue color scheme in favor of the red and faux silver gray and white palette the previous look used.
The station has also enlarged the NBC peacock to be a bit larger in proportion to the number, also moving it farther to the right, which makes it a bit easier to read.
