Devlin’s Fox Detroit set wins PromaxBDA gold

Devlin Design Group’s set design for WJBK has won the the PromaxBDA Gold Award for broadcast design.

The WJBK set was also honored with the NATAS, Michigan Chapter, Emmy announced earlier this month.

For WJBK, Fox 2 Detroit and Devlin Design Group teamed up and tapped into “what makes Detroit so gutsy, driven and proud,” according to Devlin. 

The result, an innovative design that captures the gritty perseverance and the burgeoning rebirth of the Motor City.

“Capturing the spirit of Detroit is what makes this project exceptional,” the design firm says.

A unique component of the look is also “human centered design.”

The set showcases the WJBK talent, and the content radiates energy with visually endless flexibility.

The design not only conveys the “now-ness” of Detroit, but also displays elements of Detroit’s rich and colorful history, says Devlin.

“Devlin Design Group was a great partner on this project. We feel strongly that they listened to our ideas and goals, then brought them to life in the design. The set is dynamic, functional and offers us tremendous flexibility,” said Keith Stironek, vice president, creative services at WJBK in a statement.
