‘Sunday Today’ originates from Megyn Kelly’s old set

NBC News‘ “Sunday Today with Willie Geist” became the latest network property to start using Studio 6A, the former home of the now canceled “Megyn Kelly Today.”

Since its debut, “Sunday Today” has originated from a variety of configurations of Studio 1A, which has temporarily been transformed into the network’s “Election Center,” which could be why Geist was moved — perhaps temporarily — to 6A.

During the Sunday, Nov. 4, edition, the show took full advantage of the space’s video walls, using them to create faux windows with a Rockefeller Center view along with a bright gold knee wall.

The walls, the studio’s video panels and the set’s color changing technology were also used for topical opens.

Dylan Dreyer also joined Geist in-studio, using the camera left video wall alcove to deliver a national weather forecast.
