FirstCom partners with iconic Capitol Studios for production music label

Capitol Studios has been a hallmark of the music industry for over 60 years from its unique Louis Naidorf-designed home in Hollywood. From Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin to Green Day and John Mayer, Capitol Studio’s recording studios have played host to musicians spanning the decades.

Now, FirstCom Music, a division of Universal Publishing Production Music, is tapping into that history with a new production music partnership.

Dubbed Capitol Studio Masters, the new label will “represent the spirit of Capitol’s history with relevant music spanning virtually every generation and every genre.”

“We are delighted that we have now inspired the Capitol Studio Masters label, which promises to bring our definitive music experience to a variety of producers and editors,” said Paula Salvatore of Capitol Studios.

The albums from the label will be recorded, mixed and mastered at Capitol Studios with stems available for custom mixing.

“Our creative vision was to reflect on the artists that represent the legacy of Capitol Records and Capitol Studios and to create a collection that pays homage to the styles of those artists.” said Ken Nelson of FirstCom Music.

“We had the resources to bring the best artists and composers to this project and the result is a very authentic sound of exceptional quality. We are confident this will be an incredible resource for our clients.”

The initial release includes four albums including “Classic Rhythm & Blues,” “Best Beach,” “Feature First” and “Open Notes,” each honoring a part of Capitol Studio’s storied past.
