In a promo for its upcoming Democratic Debate coverage, MSNBC emphasizes its team of moderators.
MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, host of “The Rachel Maddow Show” and Andrea Mitchell, host of “Andrea Mitchell Reports” will moderate along Kristen Welker, NBC News’ White House correspondent and Ashley Parker, a White House reporter for The Washington Post. Mitchell is also NBC’s chief foreign affairs correspondent.
This marks the first time all moderators are female this election cycle — and only the third time in history.
MSNBC doesn’t mention this fact in the promo — but instead emphasizes the experience of the journalists selected.
The spot shows the nine candidates who have qualified using the hanger-like “arena” 3D space the network is using for its political coverage this year, along with graphics designed to match the network’s overall “Decision 2020” look.
