Contributed Content / Press Release April 20, 2026

Amagi, an industry cloud platform for unified broadcast, streaming, and monetization, announced that AccuWeather has completed a modernization of its broadcast ecosystem. The update shifts AccuWeather from traditional broadcast infrastructure to a cloud-based, internet-driven system that manages both linear TV and streaming in one platform.

The transformation, based at Amagi’s Master Control Room in Princeton, New Jersey, consolidates the technology stack and managed operations under a single provider. This integration aims to improve efficiency, flexibility, and scalability across distribution platforms.

Srinivasan KA, co-founder and president of global business at Amagi, stated that managed services are central to the engagement. He noted that Amagi’s role includes operating, monitoring, and optimizing broadcast environments with a unified approach. The combined technology stack and managed services allow for faster and seamless customizations. The Princeton MCR oversees both linear and free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channels, providing cloud-native agility and operational assurance.

The expanded engagement builds on a 2021 initiative when AccuWeather introduced FAST channels. Through Amagi’s managed services, AccuWeather benefits from:

  • Enhanced distribution efficiency by transitioning to a fully IP-based model to improve reliability and reduce costs.
  • Optimized regionalization at scale with advanced sub-feed capabilities for managing multiple regional feeds with customized graphics.
  • Real-time agility for live events enabling faster workflows for breaking news and critical weather updates across platforms.
  • Accelerated innovation cycles through a unified technology approach that supports quicker deployment of new features and workflow improvements.

Helen Swenson, chief content officer at AccuWeather, said the partnership with Amagi supports a modern and scalable distribution infrastructure. She added that consolidating linear and OTT distribution simplifies operations and improves efficiency, allowing the team to focus on delivering weather forecasts with proven Superior Accuracy.
