WTSP, Tegna’s station in TampaSt. Petersburg, Florida, has unveiled an updated logo.

The station created some minor waves back in May 2020 when it unveiled a quasi-retro-style logo that formed the number “10” from a series of five parallel lines.

The old WTSP logo introduced in May 2020.

The new look preserves the same letterforms but eliminates the repeating five-line look, a decision that makes the look cleaner while still offering a memorable mark.

In this composite created by NCS, the old WTSP logo (in black) and new WTSP logo (in white) are shown on top of each other to illustrate the similar shape.

The updated mark has some similarities to the numeral designs used for WBNS in Columbus, Ohio, and WPLG in Miami, Florida, but it notably does not fully merge the “1” and “0” together and also features a rounder curve on arm of the top of the “1.”

WTSP has updated the logo on most of its social media platforms, though it still remains visible on some iterations of its digital properties.
