ESPN has released an update to its mobile app that aims to make personalization easier.

The new SportsCenter app is a “reimagining” of the ScoreCenter app and also consolidated the functionality of numerous other apps, reports TechCrunch.

In addition to allowing for access to video and stories, the new app allows users to specific favorite teams and then tailors content to these preferences.

The updated app is part of an overhaul to consolidate the number of apps ESPN offers from over 45 to about a dozen — a move that aims to cut down on development and maintenance costs.

ESPN now divides its apps into “core” properties: SportsCenter, fantasy sports, radio, TV anywhere and, likely, a standalone category for Olympics coverage.
