KOMU-TV, the NBC affiliate serving the Columbia/Jefferson City market has updated its Twitter page background to include a list of the people feeding the station’s Twitter feed, complete with each person’s Twitter handle and initials used to sign his or her tweet.
Since the station is owned by the University of Missouri, most of the folks feeding KOMU’s Twitter timeline are students, but it’s quite easy to envision reporters’ or other staff member photos here instead.
This approach works well because it not only allows Twitter readers to see who’s behind the posts they read, but also serves as a cross-promotion tool to get the public to follow other feeds.
